Buying a Home
Purchasing a home is, most likely, the largest purchase you will make in your lifetime. You may even do it a few times! The process can be overwhelming, and I am here to help ease you through and advise you to make it as smooth as possible. No question is ever too small to ask. I want you to feel assured, supported, and communicated with during the entire transaction. We won’t forget to have fun along the way! I commit to always having your best interests in mind.
Oftentimes, when you think you’re ready to purchase a home, there may still be some hurdles to overcome. That’s why it’s important to find an agent who is knowledgeable at the very first moment you decide you want to start on the path to purchasing. I recommend that even if you aren’t quite ready financially, having a consultation with a mortgage lender is extremely beneficial. The lender will be able to tell you what needs to be paid off or just paid down, how much you need to realistically save, what your credit score needs to be and how to get there! You will be provided essentially a road map to where you need to be to purchase a home!
Steps to homeownership:
- Find a real estate agent you trust
- Choose a mortgage lender
- Create a list of your debts, including student loans, credit cards, car payments, etc.
- Compile your financial paperwork- You will need 2 years of W2s
- 2 years of tax returns if self employed
- 1 month of current pay stubs
- 2 months of bank statements
Have a consultation with your lender and have them run all of your financials to determine if you’re ready to get pre approved! (Or at least give you a timeline on when you will be ready!)
Now that we know what your budget is, it’s time to search for your dream home!
I always provide complimentary consultations for buyers & sellers.
